(Kingston, June 3, 2024) JPS is now accepting entries for its JPS 101 Night Lights Photo Competition, which was launched on its 101st Anniversary (May 25). In addition to having the best images featured on the Company’s social media platforms and website, the winning entries will receive over half a million dollars in cash prizes combined – with first place receiving $250,000. Second and third place prizes are $150,000 and $75,000, respectively.
The competition, which forms part of activities to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the company, is opened to amateur and professional photographers alike, who are resident in Jamaica. Entries should be submitted via the Company’s website, and should therefore be in a digital format.
There is no entry fee, as well as no limit to the number of entries that can be submitted. The closing date to submit all entries is June 12, 2024.
“The competition is a great way to capture the beauty and creativity of how light is used at night in Jamaica as well as its aesthetic contribution to our lives. We are looking forward to receiving the most delightful and creative submissions from photographers of all skill levels,” said an enthusiastic Winsome Callum, Corporate Communications Director.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, photographic quality and genuineness or authenticity of the content. In addition to first, second and third place prizes, there is also a People’s Choice Award, where the public is invited to vote for their top choice, on the Company’s social media pages. The People’s Choice award will receive $75,000.
Winners of the JPS 101 Night Lights Photo Competition will be announced in June.
